A Beautiful Evening

Having the house for sale this summer has me counting the lasts. Noticing things and taking notes on how I did things and if I’d do it that way again.

People should see my house in the golden hour.

Or dusk.

Anyway, interested parties trickle through. It’s beautiful but still a lot of work. But no one has gotten serious enough for us to start packing out things. So we work on it ourselves little by little. I still dream of what I want done with it yet. I still have goals. Because it is still mine after all and I can’t help myself.

Wisconsin isn’t such a bad place to live after all. I’m coming to hold it with an open hand and not panicking so much about how God doesn’t seem to care about timelines. Instead, trying to be more intentional about curiosity about the story God is writing. It’s like trying to step outside the story to watch what God is doing. Rather than ragging Him to remember all the things that are at stake.

I read a book by Darrel Champlin. He talks about praying for something and then he says, “And God answered, naturally.” It was good to read this because again, it reminded me that God is answering and taking care of us. Like this. Here, on StoneHill. So we’re okay.

Also, I want to go to the Amazon one day. It seems like it could be miserable but I want to see for myself.

The garden people are not near as disgruntled by the smoke from the northern fires as I thought they would be. They have other problems. The fairies are all in a flutter. Only, flutter, they cannot. It seems that not only is there an upcoming ban on the use of fairy dust, they have also…

I did not find him in the barn tonight, but on the cat! “Sir Timothy at your service!” he called out to me. I was startled again to see a mouse, in clothing and talking. But this time there was the cat riding thing going on too. I took this opportunity to ask him the…
